Find Your Perfect Bra Size

Here’s a quick guide to get started.

BEFORE YOU START

Prerequisite for Finding the Right Size

Put on your most comfortable, unpadded bra and grab a measuring tape. You can also wear a thin layer of clothing (like a lightweight shirt) while measuring.

STEP 1

Measure Underbust

First, measure your underbust. This means taking the measurement around your ribcage. Wrap the measuring tape around your back, bringing the ends together under your bra so that they’re aligned. The tape should be directly under your bra, parallel to the floor, snug but not too tight. This measurement helps determine your band size (65/70/75/80, etc.).

STEP 2

Measure Overbust

Next, measure over your bust, meaning around the fullest part of your chest. Again, wrap the tape around your back and over the fullest part of your bust, keeping the ends level in front and back. The tape should be parallel to the floor, snug but not too tight. This measurement helps determine your cup size (A/B/C/D, etc.).

FINAL STEP

Use the Size Calculator

Enter your measurements into our size calculator to get your recommended bra size.

How to find the perfect fit?

Common Bra-Fitting Issues and Solutions

When Bra Cups Are Empty at the Top

Cause:

  • The cup size is too large.
  • The bra style doesn’t suit your silhouette or breast shape.

Solution:

  • Adjust the straps slightly, but not too much. If the bra size is correct, this should fix the issue.
  • If the underband fits well but the cups are still too large, try one cup size smaller (e.g., D → C).
  • If downsizing the cup still doesn’t help, adjust the underband by pulling the frame forward and back while tightening from the back.
  • If the cup remains too large, try one size smaller for the underband (e.g., 80 → 75).
  • If the cups fit but the underband feels loose, use our size calculator to find an alternative smaller size.

If the problem persists, it might be due to an unsuitable bra style. For less firm breasts, consider a push-up bra as it provides a lift and has a narrower base.

When Bra Cups Overflow

Cause:

  • The underband size is correct, but the cup size is too small.
  • Both the underband and cup sizes are too small.
  • The underband size is too large, but the cup size is too small.

Solution:

  • If the overflow is minor, try going up one cup size (e.g., C → D).
  • For significant overflow, choose two cup sizes larger (e.g., C → E) to avoid double bust.
  • If the underband feels tight and cups overflow, use our size calculator to find a larger alternative size (sister size) and consider increasing the cup size further.
  • If the underband feels loose but the cups overflow, select a smaller alternative size using our calculator.

When the Underwire Doesn’t Sit Flat or Feels Uncomfortable

Cause:

  • The underband is too loose, or the size is too large.
  • The cup size is too small.

Solution:

  • Tighten the underband at the back to ensure the bra fits snugly with the cups properly encasing the breasts.
  • If tightening the underband isn’t enough, try a smaller size suggested by our size calculator.
  • If the cup still feels too small, choose a smaller underband size and increase the cup size (e.g., C → D).

When Shoulder Straps Dig In

Cause:

  • The underband size is likely too large.
  • Straps are over-tightened because the bra lacks adequate support.

Solution:

  • Use our size calculator to find a smaller alternative size.

When Shoulder Straps Slip Off

Cause:

  • Straps are not tightened enough.
  • The underband size is too large.
  • The bra style doesn’t suit your silhouette or breast shape.

Solution:

  • Start by tightening the straps.
  • If this causes the underband to ride up, choose a smaller size with the help of our calculator.
  • If the style doesn’t suit you, try a bra with cross-back straps or use a special strap clip.

When the Underband Rides Up

Cause:

  • The bra size is too large.
  • Straps are too tight.

Solution:

  • Loosen the straps slightly and adjust the underband by pulling it down at the back.
  • If the cups fit well but the underband still feels loose, select a smaller size using our calculator.
  • If loosening the straps results in the cups being too small, try a smaller underband size and increase the cup size (e.g., C → D).

When the Underband Feels Too Tight or Digging In

Cause:

  • The underband size is too small, or the fastening is too tight.
  • The fabric is too soft, but the elastic is too rigid.
  • Straps are over-tightened, causing the underband to dig into soft tissue.

Solution:

  • Start by loosening the fastening. If the underband still feels tight but the cups fit well, select a larger alternative size using our calculator.
  • Choose a design with a wider band or side support for a smoother back profile.
  • If the elastic is too rigid, select bras made from high-quality materials, which are less likely to cause this issue.
  • Loosen the straps and adjust the bra from the back. If it still feels loose, try a smaller size.
  • If the cups feel small after adjustments, choose a smaller underband size and a larger cup size (e.g., C → D).
